Haiti - Reconstruction : Inauguration of the new Centre of Tax Collection of Carrefour

Wednesday, President Michel Martelly, in the presence including of Mayor of the town of Carrefour, of Andral Joseph, Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), parliamentarians and other local authorities, inaugurated the new premises of the Centre of Tax Collection of Carrefour.

This brand new building built by a local firm in strict compliance with the standards of modern construction and funded to the tune of 17 million gourdes by the Treasury, is part of the dynamics of decentralization and deconcentration initiated by the Directorate General of Taxes, within the framework of the implementation of its strategic modernization plan 2012-2017.

The President of the Republic said that the inauguration of the Centre of Tax Collection of Carrefour, reflected the sense of duty of established authorities and reiterated the commitment of his Administration to work tirelessly to provide all public institutions, of necessary infrastructure to enable them to improve the quality of local services offered to the population. The Head of State took the opportunity to invite taxpayers to meet their tax charges to increase government revenues and promote development in the commune.

For his part, Andral Joseph, assured that the institution mobilizes all its resources to enable staff to continue to provide quality service to the public "The DGI continues to modernize its administration through the construction of several buildings in different regions the country," among other in Hinche, Maissade, Thomonde, Thomassique, in the Central Department, in Jérémie and Aquin.
