Haiti - FIFA U-20 World Cup : Our Grenadières take the lead in Group A

As part of the final phase of the qualifiers for the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), counting for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup France 2018, our young Grenadières after winning the victory against Trinidad & Tobago [3-2] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23321-haiti-news-zapping.html in their first match and taking second place in Group A, were again victorious Saturday against Costa Rica [3-2].

In the first half Roseline Eloissaint (# 11) has registered the first goal in the 5th minute of game for Haiti [1-0]. Very fit our Grenadières sink the score thanks to a shot of Nelourde Nicolas (# 8) in the 32' [2-0]. At the end of the first period at the 45+3, Melchie DumoMay (# 18) shook Costa Rica with a 3rd goal [3-0]...

At the return of the locker room the Costa Ricans try to regain control of the ball, they will have to wait until the 61st minute of play for Daniela Cotto mark against Haiti and reduce the score [3-1] then it is Hillaery Corrales (#14) who scored in the 74th minute a second goal against Haiti [3-2] score that will remain unchanged at the end of this match.

With this victory, Haiti is temporarily rising to first place in Group A, pending the third and final meeting against Canada Monday, January 22.

Recall that this elimination phase offers 3 places for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup France 2018.
