Friday in Jacmel, Régine Lamur the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) alongside Senator Dieupie Cherubin, Deputy Ketel Jean Philippe, Mayor Jacmel Marky Kessal and other authorities of the city officially launched the 2018 School Games.

After an opening ceremony marked by the parade of flags and of delegations of 24 schools and various artistic and cultural choreographies designed by the technicians of the Directorate of Physical and Sports Activities, Minister Lamur declared open the 2018 School Games.

For 5 months, these games will allow thousands of schoolchildren from 10 departments of the country to demonstrate their sports performance in various physical sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, martial arts and cerebral in tournaments of games of checkers and chess...

Minister Lamur who believes that school sport must be the basis of any competitive national selection with the conviction that talented young athletes imbued with civic and patriotic values are an assurance to enhance the national sport "The School Games must allow the detection of talents," declared the Minister, saying it is time to offer better guidance to young people called to make our pride in international sports competitions. To this end, she announced the deployment of sports instructors, coaches and agents multipliers to facilitate physical activities and sports in schools throughout the national territory.
