Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth and Sports welcomed this week at the Diplomatic Salon of Toussaint Louverture International Airport the Canadian-Haitian boxer Bermane Stiverne (40 years old, native of the Plain) and former World Heavyweight Champion (2014-2015) of the World Boxing Council (WBC 2014-2015), returning to the country less than a month after meeting with the Minister to continue to discuss the prospects of his Foundation and opportunities that can offer boxing to young Haitians from disadvantaged neighborhoods

Recall that during his previous visit on April 17, Minister Charles had talks with Bermane Stiverne in the presence of Pierre Eddy Daniel, the President of the Haitian Boxing Federation https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27496-haiti-boxing-the-former-world-heavyweight-champion-bermane-stiverne-visiting-the-country.html and understood the need to continue to debate his interests for young people and reflect on the realization of the projects in their favor.

According to the Minister Charles, during his stay, the 5th that Bermane Stiverne realizes in his native land, the Boxer should be received by the Prime Minister, Michel Lapin, to refine his project of Foundation and the frame to offer to the young people of the vulnerable zones.

Stiverne's initiative is part of Minister Charles's vision of providing young people with the best opportunities to fight crime, guide them towards healthy activities to facilitate their social integration and encourage the development of sport in Canada.
