Haiti - Sports : The Caribbean Cycling Championship in Haiti, official confirmation

After several weeks of negotiations, led by Edwing Charles, the Minister of Youth, and Sports to convince the international bodies of cycling, the Caribbean Cycling Confederation (CCC) finally decided unanimously, to entrust the organization of the Cycling Championship of the Caribbean Nations to Haiti. A decision that comes after three years of efforts of Haiti to obtain this championship.

In a letter to Kénelt Léveillé, the President of the Haitian Cycling Federation (FHC), the CCC Executive Committee explained that it relied on the arguments presented by Haiti to approve the bid and decide the course of the championship of Cycling Caribbean nations at home "Our Committee is confident that the passion and commitment expressed during our visit guarantee the organization of a successful and exciting championship," says this letter signed by the President and the Secretary General CCC.

Minister Charles, who has made this issue a priority, considers obtaining the championship headquarters in Haiti, as a great victory for the country and applauds the efforts and commitments of all authorities and authorities involved to obtain the organization of this national championship scheduled from October 25 to 27, 2019.

This large-scale event will bring together some 200 cyclists from 27 countries in the Caribbean and around the world. "For more than 3 hours live on national and international television, Haiti will have the opportunity to project a positive image of the country..." stressed the Minister.

This championship will take place from 25 to 27 October 2019, on a course of 120 km, on two departments (West and Artibonite). From the Côte des Arcadins to Champs-De-Mars. The cyclists will cross the communes of St Marc, Arcahaie, Cabaret, Croix-Des-Bouquets, Cité Soleil, Delmas and Port-au-Prince.

The authorities concerned hope to attract a lot of tourists for this event which is the subject of the attention of the highest authorities of the State. Hoping that the opposition will not upset this beautiful project, which will take place the same month or should in principle take place the legislative and municipal elections which for the moment remain uncertain...
