Haiti - Politic : Remarks of Martelly during his visit to Miami

President Michel Martelly, was in Miami this morning where he met at the Consulate General of Haiti the mayor, Tomas Regalado, then he went to the Little Haiti Cultural Center (LHCC) where he met with leaders of the Haitian community of southern Florida.

Michel Martelly said he was confident that the case of manipulation of legislative elections results will be quickly resolved. He thanked all those who live outside of Haiti for their commitment and their valuable contributions to the survival of the people of Haiti affected by recent natural disasters and political instability for years "We need your help [...] diaspora has been excluded from previous governments, inclusion is one of our key priorities [...] Today we must all realize that we are all Haitians... we have to put our heads together [...] I am honest and a hard worker, but only one person can not change Haiti [...] together we can change Haiti."

The President Martelly also said he wanted the world to stop showing negative images of Haiti and hopes that all embassies and consulates of Haiti, became centers of investment "They can not just focus on the issuance of visas and passports" added the President.

Regarding the Government's tax revenues, Michel Martelly talked about taxes and the Haitian lottery and also of a fund fueled by each family of the diaspora to fund projects in Haiti.
