Haiti - Politic : Prime Minister, the vote will be eminently political

Yesterday, in a statement the Senator of Nord'Ouest Lucas François Sainvil (INITE) has indicated the conditions to which, the possible and futur Prime Minister designate, Garry Conille https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3695-haiti-politic-former-chief-of-cabinet-of-the-clinton-foundation-candidate-for-prime-minister.html will have to respond in order to be ratified at the upper house.

"I do not know him, but I know that many Senators know this person, in particular the Senator Kély Bastien who attended with him the medical school. Everyone knows that he's the son of a former Minister under Duvalier (Serge Conille, former Minister of Health), a person who is well educated and work to the United Nation, but we have no problem with all these things, it is sufficient that the person can do and understand the work, that it is ready to act as a unifying..."

A political vote

The Senator Sainvil also indicates that the vote will be eminently political "we always say that the vote in Assembly is a political vote, politics takes precedence over the technique, there is not really technical vote, Article 157 of the Constitution says what it is necessary to have to be Prime Minister, but does not say what it is necessary to have to be ratified..."

Article 157

To be appointed Prime Minister, you must:

1) be Haitian of origin and not have renounced its nationality;

2) be at least thirty (30) years of age;

3) enjoy its civil and political rights and have never been sentenced to an afflictive and infamous penalty ;

be owner in Haiti and practice a profession;

5) reside in the country for five (5) consecutive years;

6) Have been relieved of its responsibilities if the person has been accountable for public funds.
