Haiti - Politic : The sharing of responsibilities seen by Garry Conille 06/10/2011 08:32:55
After his ratification, in the Senate Tuesday, the Dr. Garry Conille prepares his cabinet in consultation with the President Martelly. Aware of the necessity of obtaining an unifying and majority vote of both houses on the cabinet and his policy statement of government, the Prime Minister ratified explains what him and the President want to say by the sharing responsibilities. "I will meet the President of the Republic on the issue. As you know, the Constitution provides that the Prime Minister composes the cabinet in consultation with the President, but we do not approach the subject in this way. We believe that it is very important to have a sharing of responsibilities. The task ahead, the challenges ahead are enormous. They will be necessary that each person, every group, each entity contributes first to the definition of the vision and then to the definition of instruments and we really see a system where each individual, each party can contribute. So we are really talking about sharing of responsibilities. We will see with all partners, how they can contribute to the national effort. In the conviction, that the President also expressed on several occasions, he said very often, that we must govern together. We are already in consultation with partners, I met with political parties, I met the Deputies and Senators to see first how we can agree on what we want to achieve, agree on where we want to bring the country on the basis of mandates that these elected have received. Then we will of course agree on the instruments and also on the contribution of each other, so it's more that way that we approach it [the ministerial cabinet]. We have never approached it in the form of negotiations for a position, this approach is part of a reflections on where the country should go and on what should be the contribution of each group in order to make progress..."
