Grand'Anse : Flood death toll rises

The death toll from the recent floods recorded in the Grand'Anse department has risen, 4 people have died, 3 are missing, 16 others are injured while around sixty people have been evacuated, according to the latest figures released Thursday by the departmental authorities.

The CEP is finally complete:

Nearly 3 months after the initial appointment of 7 of the 9 members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), it was finally completed during the Council of Ministers of December 4th, 2024, which validated in an order: Magalie Georges of the National Confederation of Haitian Educators, to represent the human rights sector and Ms. Yves-Marie Édouard to represent the women's sector.

Digicel services temporarily interrupted

On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Digicel services were temporarily interrupted following serious damage to three sections of its optical fiber, caused by devastating floods and projectile impacts. As a result, several services are currently affected, including Mon Cash, SMS, as well as local and international calls. Jean Philippe Brun, the company's General Manager, assures that the technical team is mobilized to repair the damage and restore services as soon as possible

Jacmel : Arrest warrant against the Departmental Director

The Jacmel Public Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant against Luxena Jean-Pierre, Departmental Director of the Southeast of the Ministry of Public Works, following complaints accusing him of using the equipment of the Ministry of Public Works for personal purposes.

Cap-Haitien under water

Following the torrential rains that fell on the city of Cap-Haïtien. Several neighborhoods are completely flooded, including: Ba Zo-Vincent and Charrier at the southern entrance to the city, Blue Hills, EPPLS, Cité Chauvel, and Cité du Peuple, located in the 2nd communal section of Haut du Cap.
