Haiti - Politic : Daniel Supplice pleads for the effective identification of the diaspora

Live this Thursday, December 1, 2011, on WSRF 1580 AM, a Haitian radio station in Miami, Daniel Supplice, the Minister for the Presidency in charge of Haitians living abroad, made a true plea for the identification of the diaspora.

The difficulties for the children of Haitian descent in the Turks & Caicos Islands, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, among others, to attend school for lack of identification documents, have motivated even more the authorities to solve this problem. Moreover, said Mr. Supplice to the journalist of WSRF "we will start by implementing offices in these areas where there is a high concentration of Haitian."

During the interview, Mr. Supplice addressed other issues and expressed the determination of the new team to make of this ministry an institution of service to the community.

The question of amendment of the Constitution, including articles that recognize the multiple nationality, was also addressed "As soon as that the amended Constitution will be published, Haitians living abroad, having acquired or not, another nationality, can enjoy their civil and political rights."

The day before, the Minister Supplice, with the new Consul General of Haiti in New York Charles A. Forbin, visited the "New York Historical Society Museum," located near Central Park. The two senior government officials have benefited from this displacement to to "plunge", through objects and documents available, in the Glorious Revolution of Saint Domingue of 1791.
