Bandits in disarray

On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Motorized Intervention Brigades Corps (CBIM) repelled an attack by the coalition of gangs of the "Viv Ansanm" coalition against the CBIM base in Clercine. The armed bandits retreated in the face of the firepower of the CBIM agents. No police officers were injured and the area was secured.

Petite Rivière : The PNH regains territory

Agents from specialized PNH units and members of the multinational mission dislodged the bandits and regained control of Palmiste, Ducasse and Marcaisse, three localities in the 2nd communal section of Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite. More than 16 armed bandits, identified as members of the "Gran Grif" gang, were killed in exchanges of fire with the police, others, some of them wounded, took refuge in Savien.

Former Ambassador Foley advocates for American intervention

Former U.S. Ambassador to Haiti, James B. Foley, continues to advocate for U.S. military intervention in Haiti. "A Trump-ordered intervention to save the population will be brief, successful and applauded," Foley said in an op-ed published in the Miami Herald.

PNH : 1.9 billion for debit cards

Following the recent announcement by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé in recognition of the sacrifices of the police officers, mobilized on all fronts, to double the amount of the police debit card which goes from 15,000 to 30,000 Gourdes monthly starting this December, Alfred Métellus, the Minister of Economy and Finance confirmed that an envelope of 1.9 billion Gourdes on an annual basis, or approximately 158 million Gourdes per month had been mobilized for this purpose. The Minister specified that this measure was permanent and definitive.

Diaspora : Fruitful meeting between the MHAVE and the National Archives

During a first meeting between J.E Kathia Verdier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) and Wilfrid Bertrand, the Director of the National Archives of Haiti (ANH). At the end of this meeting, it was agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to conduct joint actions for the issuance of extracts from civil status records; launch a pilot action in Chile and Brazil, where the demand for extracts from archives is particularly high and develop a timetable to extend this initiative to other countries with similar needs.

Bilateral Council of Ministers Colombia-Haiti

Leslie Voltaire President pro Tempore of the Transitional Council at the head of a delegation of 9 people including 6 ministers, leaves the country this Saturday, December 21 for Colombia to participate in a Bilateral Council of Ministers Colombia-Haiti. According to the Prime Minister's Office, this bilateral Council of Ministers aims to promote "cooperation between Haiti and Colombia and to facilitate bilateral exchanges in the areas of tourism, trade, security, education and humanitarianism, among others [...]"
