Clash between the BSAP and the PNH, 4 injured Following a violent altercation between an agent of the Brigade de Surveillance des Aires Protégées (BSAP) and a plainclothes police officer, violent clashes broke out between BSAP agents and police officers in Lascahobas (Dept. du Centre). 4 people including a journalist Jordentz Pierre-Louis, working at Radio Télé ICI, were injured by bullets, 2 BSAP vehicles were set on fire and their base vandalized by members of the population who sided with the police officers. France : 4.5 million euros additional for the Mission The French Government has granted an additional aid of 4.5 million euros to the Multinational Mission for Security Support in Haiti. This new amount brings the aid provided by France to 9.5 million euros, and to more than 100 million dollars the total contributions in support of the Mission. Cap-Haitien Airport: Runway Renovation The renovation work on the runway of the Cap-Haïtien airport carried out by the American multinational firm NH Global officially began on Monday, December 30, 2024. The work will last 7 months with the aim of improving the safety and efficiency of the airport's air operations, including strengthening the drainage system. This project is financed by the World Bank, thanks to a $12 million grant approved in 2023. The main objective is to comply with international standards in force.
