Students victims of stray bullets

"Following the incidents that occurred at the Center for Diplomatic and International Studies (CEDI) and the Saint-Louis de Gonzague Institution, the Government strongly condemns these heinous and regrettable acts that further plunge our society into desolation. Meeting on security cooperation

A working meeting was held on Friday, February 7, 2025, between the Embassy of Haiti in France and officials from the Directorate of International Security Cooperation of the Ministry of the Interior on security cooperation between France and Haiti.

HOPE/HELP renewal delegation in Washington, D.C.

A private sector delegation is in Washington, D.C. to continue the campaign for the renewal of HOPE/HELP. The mission began with a key meeting with Representative Mike Carey.

Bandits attack plantations

Armed bandits operating in Savien carried out an attack on Tuesday morning against "Lavèdi", a locality in the commune of Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite. They set fire to various plantations, forcing residents to flee the area to seek refuge elsewhere. Local authorities who confirmed the information were unable to say whether there were any casualties.

Anti-gang operation in Torcel

During a police operation on Monday, February 10, 2025, several bandits were fatally injured and two firearms seized by the National Police in the stronghold of the "Kraze baryè" gang led by Vitelhomme Innocent. This muscular operation was carried out by the Temporary Anti-Gang Unit (UTAG) and the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), with the aim of dislodging the said gang operating in Torcel.

2,000 jobs

Launch of the project for the development and management of sub-watersheds overlooking the Parc des Trois Baies. 2,000 temporary direct jobs will be created in the next three months. Its main aims are to :

- Reduce runoff to the lower parts causing mudslides on the piston passages;

- Significantly stop the transport of sediment likely to disrupt the niches of marine species along the coast and in mangrove ecosystems;

- Improve the local living environment;

- Generate income that benefits local residents.
