Cap-Haitien : Immigration inspector arrested

On Sunday, February 23, 2025, Cald Philippe, an immigration inspector at Cap-Haitien International Airport, was arrested. He is accused of accepting money from a passenger with a false visa to facilitate his departure from the country. He is currently being questioned by the Departmental Service of Judicial Police (SDPJ) of the North.

Following the death of a Kenyan police officer killed in combat against armed gangs, António Guterres, Secretary-General of the UN, said he was "deeply saddened" by the death of the officer and offered his condolences to "the family of the victim, the people and Government of Kenya, and of course all his colleagues in the Mission."

Human Rights Watch (HRW) calls on the UN

Monday February 24, 2025, the international NGO Human Rights Watch requested a.
