2,454 Haitians deported in 48 hours

On Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) arrested 1,404 Haitian nationals and deported 1,132 in an irregular migration situation during operations conducted in Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, Barahona, Puerto Plata, and Montecristi. On Thursday, the 10th, the DGM arrested 1,339 Haitian nationals and deported 1,322. These operations were carried out with the support of the Ministry of Defense and state security agencies.

Léogâne : Several Bandits Killed, Weapons Seized (Video)

During an operation conducted by the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the commune of Léogâne, several bandits were fatally injured during an exchange of fire with law enforcement. Firearms were seized, including four assault rifles and a 9mm pistol, along with other equipment. This operation is part of efforts to eradicate armed groups in this commune. Several specialized units, including SWAT, the Anti-Gang Tactical Unit (UTAG), and the Departmental Law Enforcement Unit (UDMO), were deployed to the area.

Taekwondo : Ava Lee Qualifies for the Pan American Games

Taekwondo athlete Ava Lee is the first Haitian athlete officially qualified for the Pan American Youth Games, scheduled for 2025 in Asuncion, Paraguay, after her victory in the final against Mexico and her gold medal.
