The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of the Government, the Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), General Derby Guerrier, the Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Normil Rameau, and several other dignitaries.

In his opening remarks, Fritz Alphonse Jean, the President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, wished the entire population a happy Agriculture and Labor Day and paid tribute to all farmers and workers for their efforts to keep the country standing, stating, "Thanks to you, the country will not perish. The CPT hears your cries and sees your tribulations." He considered May 1st a major victory for those involved in the agricultural sector and promised that the government would better support them in their work. He pledged to revive the country's economy so that the government could regain control of the country and investors could regain confidence. He also took the opportunity to ask the government to provide adequate support to the agricultural and labor sectors to increase their production.

He expressed his gratitude to all the technical and financial partners who continued to support the Ministry he heads. In keeping with the day's theme, he called on everyone to remain "in solidarity with all farmers and workers to reclaim our legacy."
