Every month, 30,000 people need lifesaving assistance

Every month, more than 30,000 people depend on access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to survive in displacement sites and communities in Haiti. This vital support is available to families affected by gang violence. Thanks to the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (UNCERF), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) can continue to assist the most vulnerable.

Naomi Osaka, the most Haitian of Japanese players, won her first career clay court tournament at the Saint-Malo Open (France), defeating all her opponents. In the final, she defeated Slovenian Kaja Juvan in straight sets [6-1, 7-5] in 1 hour and 25 minutes.

Belladère : Free Cesarean Section Services

On Thursday, May 1st, 2025, Dr. Bertrand Sinal, Minister of Public Health, visited the border town of Belladère. During this visit, he reinforced the health staff at the region's medical center, which sees many patients daily. With the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNFPA), the Minister also delivered cesarean kits to the hospital, ensuring free cesarean services for pregnant women in need. This initiative represents an important step in the fight against maternal and infant mortality and is part of efforts to improve access to quality care for all women. The Ministry is committed to ensuring a regular supply of supplies to the hospital to ensure continuity of services.

Terrorists : The USA is behind

While on May 2nd, 2025, the USA designated the coalition of 27 gangs "Viv Ansanm," led by Jimmy Cherisier, alias "Barbecue," and the "Gran Grif" gang, led by Luckson Elan, alias "Jeneral Luckson" (an ally of Viv Ansanm) as foreign terrorist organizations and global terrorists, the Dominican Republic had already done so in February 2025, in Decree 104-25, which declared Haitian criminal gangs terrorist organizations and ordered the activation of the National Anti-Terrorism Council and the National Anti-Terrorism Directorate.

Strengthening Social Safety Nets

Thanks to the HA-J0005 Safety Net Strengthening Program for Vulnerable Populations, implemented by the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) with financial support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), beneficiaries from Canaan, Remy, Bagoman, and Lilavois are currently participating in socio-emotional training sessions. These sessions, led by Viva Rio trainers certified by the International Youth Federation (IYF), have enabled participants to strengthen their abilities to better communicate, manage their emotions, and cope with daily stress. A major step towards greater resilience and autonomy for these communities...

SONAPI : New Administrator at the Medical Unit

On Friday, May 2, 2025, Vikerson Garnier, Director General of the Office of Workplace Accident, Sickness, and Maternity Insurance (OFATMA), installed Mr. Ollins Jean-Louis as the new administrator at the Medical Unit of the National Industrial Parks Company (SONAPI).
