Constitutional Reform Project

Alix Didier Fils-Aimé praised the work of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). He announced that the steering committee will submit the constitutional reform project to the Government next week. The decree on the constitutional referendum will then be debated at the next Council of Ministers.

Former Citizens' Protector Accused

The Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) recommends legal proceedings against former Citizens' Protector, Renan Hédouville, and several of his close associates, including his daughter, Régine Hédouville, Mimose Moyard, and Juliana Thomas Supplice. The ULCC accuses Renan Hédouville of misappropriation of public funds, as revealed in the investigation report published on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Of the seventeen missions planned between 2022 and 2024 for the Office of Citizen Protection (OPC), ten never took place, despite a disbursement of 16,591,900 Gourdes for these fictitious trips. According to the report, Hédouville personally received more than 2 million Gourdes.

OAS : Donation of tactical equipment to the Haitian National Police (PNH)

Significant damage to the Ouanaminthe irrigation canal

59 municipalities commit to Combating Insecurity

Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé held municipal meetings in the Grand Sud region on Wednesday. This meeting, held at the Public University of the South, brought together 59 municipalities committed to combating insecurity in their regions to attract investment and development projects. Mario Andrésol, Secretary of State for Public Security, participated in the meeting.

A Baby Abandoned at the Border

On Friday, May 9, 2025, the office of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR) in Ouanaminthe reported discovering a baby without its parents on the northern border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The child was found among other Haitian nationals in a Dominican immigration truck, which was transporting irregular migrants arrested on Dominican territory.
