Haiti - Diaspora : MHAVE celebrates the 222nd anniversary of our two-tone flag (video)

On Sunday, May 18, 2025, as part of the celebration of the 222nd anniversary of the Flag and the University, J.E. Kathia Verdier, Minister of the Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), issued a solemn appeal to all Haitians living abroad to unite in celebrating this sacred date, which marks the unity and dignity of the Haitian people.

Our flag is the symbol of our national unity. It recalls the sacrifices of our ancestors and Haiti's historic victory as the first independent Black Republic in the world. A digital exhibition on the flag and its history will showcase the contributions of Haitians living abroad to building Haiti's image.

Special pre-recorded message from Minister Verdier :

The Minister emphasized the need for our compatriots to continue to play their role as a bridge of solidarity and development between Haiti and the other countries where its children live. She also reiterated that, despite the difficulties facing the country, the MHAVE remains committed to defending the rights and interests of Haitians abroad and placing them at the heart of all public policy actions.

"Long live the Haitian flag ! Long live the Haitian diaspora ! Long live Beloved Haiti !"
