Malpasse Customs Controlled by Gangs A group of heavily armed individuals, led by a certain "Benbenn," stormed the Malpasse customs office on the Haitian-Dominican border, according to the General Administration of Customs (AGD). The assailants assaulted customs officers, destroyed official documents, and took several seized trucks, all while Border Police (PoliFRONT) officers watched helplessly. This attack followed the seizure of three trucks transporting goods in violation of a circular from the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Since the May 23 assault, armed individuals have completely controlled the customs facilities, paralyzing a strategic point in the country, the AGD said.
