Partial Power in Port-au-Prince

Power has been partially restored in Port-au-Prince, but the Péligre power plant has been shut down for nearly two weeks, and several pylons supplying the metropolitan area (currently under repair) have been sabotaged. Authorities have contracted the services of the E-power company to supply electricity to certain neighborhoods in the metropolitan area.

PNH : A woman at the head of the DD of the South-East

On Wednesday, July 2nf, 2025, Divisional Commissioner Louis Jeune Pierre Michelet, Departmental Director of Nippes, installed Divisional Commissioner Magalie Belneau as the new Departmental Director of the Southeast Police Department. She replaces Divisional Commissioner Jean Gabriel Gabart in this position.

Donations from France

Antoine Michon, French Ambassador to Haiti, had a positive discussion with the mayor of Miragoâne (Nippes) about the situation in the city. First aid and emergency kits will be donated to the Civil Protection Agency and to eight rural schools to prepare for the hurricane season. These emergency kit donations are funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) in partnership with the NGO Solidarité Laïque. School staff and students will be trained to provide first aid. The schools will serve as emergency response centers for the entire community.

Mexico Visa : Beware of Scammers

The Mexican Embassy in Haiti does not have agreements with travel agencies to process Mexican visas. The processing fee for a resident visa application for family reunification or employment is only US$54, payable in cash at the Embassy's consular section on the day the visa application is processed. Customs revenues on the rise, but lower than forecasts

The General Customs Administration (AGD) collected just over 10.4 billion gourdes as of June 30, 2025, up 15% from the same period last year, but below the Ministry of Economy and Finance's forecast of 12.83 billion gourdes.
