Marchand-Dessalines : Police Station burned down On Thursday, July 17, 2025, between 3 and 4 a.m., according to witness reports, the police station in the commune of Marchand-Dessalines was the target of an attack by heavily armed individuals from the "Kokorat san ras" gang. The attackers left the commune around 6 a.m. after setting fire to the police station. According to Dunord Ciléus, Mayor of the commune, no other buildings were damaged and no human lives were reported. Assassination of J. Moïse: Prosecutor's Office Requests Resumption of Investigation On July 16, 2025, after several weeks of hearings, the Port-au-Prince Court of Appeals officially closed the sessions relating to the investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.
