Trade Imbalance with Haiti In total, Dominican exports to Haiti amounted to US$555.46 million in the first half of 2025, a 30% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Total Dominican imports from Haiti for the same period totaled US$4.38 million, a decrease of 54.27% compared to the same period of the previous year. (115 times less than the amount of exports to Haiti...) Constitution : Diaspora Tour Project Canceled The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) informs that regarding the planned tour to promote the draft Constitution to the Haitian diaspora in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and North America, it has been decided to cancel this foreign tour and interrupt preparations due to growing opposition to the project. Aware of the importance of consultation and dialogue, the CPT plans to leverage new information and communication technologies, as well as other appropriate resources, to maintain ongoing and constructive contact with Haitians living abroad, complementing the services offered by diplomatic and consular missions. Cap-Haitien : Major Roadworks Rehabilitation work has begun on the ring road connecting the RN1 and RN2 highways. This major work is being undertaken to ease congestion at the eastern entrance to the city. Spanish Ambassador Visits the MMSS Marco Antonio Penin Toledano, the Spanish Ambassador accredited to Haiti, visited the military base of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS), where he met with Kenyan Commander G. Otunge. Together, they discussed the Mission's situation and security issues. Books and academic training materials were also delivered to the base library. Note that Spain contributes to the Mission, notably through financial support. Archaeological Mission As part of the ethnographic and archaeological mission organized by the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE) in Lakou Dereyal, in the commune of Limonade, the technical team, accompanied by archaeologist Joseph Sony Jean, has already visited several archaeological sites, such as the colonial dwellings of Dimini Troplen, Anba Salin, the Native American village with a daycare center, and Puerto Real, to assess the state of conservation of the commune's archaeological heritage. PNH 35th class : Intellectual Tests The Haitian National Police announces the holding of intellectual tests for the 35th graduating class of the Police Institution, which will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, throughout the national territory.
