Two police officers killed and an armored vehicle set on fire On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 22, a Haitian National Police (PNH) armored vehicle, patrolling Liancourt, a commune in Artibonite, fell into a deadly trap set by heavily armed bandits from the "Gran Grif" gang. Despite a heroic defense, they succumbed to the sheer number of attackers and their firepower. The death toll was high : at least two police officers from the Departmental Law Enforcement Unit (UDMO) were killed, a third is missing, and only the driver managed to escape. A civilian scout accompanying the police was also fatally injured. The armored vehicle was set on fire.
