On Thursday, August 7, 2025, as part of the rotating presidency, Presidential Advisor Fritz Alphonse Jean handed over power to Councilor Laurent Saint-Cyr, who became the new President pro tempore of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), which he will lead during the final phase of the transition.

Fritz Alphonse Jean recalled that the transfer of power is a symbol of political change. He took the opportunity to reflect on his presidency and highlight the various achievements that allow hope to continue to flourish among the population.

This transfer of power took place during a formal ceremony at the Villa d'Accueil, in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, members of his government, representatives of the Court of Cassation, members of the diplomatic and consular corps, and representatives of several civil society organizations.

In his opening speech, Laurent Saint-Cyr stated that he accepted this great responsibility with great humility and patriotism.

Given the urgency of the moment, he emphasized, "Our country is going through one of the greatest crises in its history. The lives and futures of more than 12 million women, men, adults, and children depend on the decisions we must make together in the days and weeks to come [...] The situation is worrying; the time for rhetoric is over. We must act. Too much blood has been shed, too much time has been wasted. We must unite to give the people the results they expect."

Should be noted Laurent Saint-Cyr is the fourth and final President of the CPT, after Edgard Leblanc Fils, Leslie Voltaire, and Fritz Alphonse Jean.
