PNH : Successful Meeting with Canada

Vladimir Paraison, the new Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), received a technical delegation from the Canadian Embassy in Haiti. During this meeting, ongoing projects funded by Canada aimed at strengthening the capacity of the police institution, particularly in the areas of training, logistics, supervision, and development of the PNH, were discussed.

Mgr. Romélus : Words of Sympathy from the Prime Minister's Office

79 Haitians Intercepted in a Container

The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) intercepted a cargo truck carrying 79 Haitians in an irregular migration situation attempting to reach Santo Domingo. 40 men, 30 women, and 9 children, accompanying their parents, were detained overnight in Las Matas de Santa Cruz, in the municipality of Guayubín, Monte Cristi. The driver, José Andrés Peralta Martes, was arrested and will be prosecuted for human trafficking.

Haiti Elected Vice President of CEPLAC

The 16th session of the Regional Conference on Women of Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPLAC) positioned Haiti among the countries that should be part of the regional structure's committee. To this end, the candidacy of Pedrica Saint Jean, Haiti's Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, for the Vice-Presidency of ECLAC has been accepted by the organizing committee.
