Haiti - Agro-industry : Ayitika wins two medals at the Chocolate Awards 2025

New international recognition for Haitian chocolate. Ayitika has just won two medals at the Chocolate Awards 2025, organized in the USA by the International Institute of Chocolate and Cocoa Tasting (IICCT).

The IICCT competition is a prestigious event in the field of high-end chocolate. Since 2012, it has brought together IICCT professionals and independent judges experienced in chocolate tasting and evaluation. The competition is organized by category (producer and artisan chocolatier) and by region.

Ayitika won two awards as a producer for the Latin America and Caribbean region and qualified for the world finals :

Silver Medal for its "Jenjanm" 65% Dark Chocolate in the Flavored Dark Chocolate category;

Bronze Medal for the "Jakmèl" 70% Dark Chocolate in the Plain Dark Chocolate category.

Located in the rural area of Moreau, in the commune of Torbeck (South), Ayitika specializes in the production of high-quality chocolates using its "root-to-bar" approach, which encompasses total control of the production process, from research into local varieties to artisanal cocoa processing.

Ayitika also develops two other cocoa terroirs in the Southeast (Cayes-Jacmel) and Nippes (Baradères). It collaborates with 2,700 cocoa producers grouped within the farmers' association "Rasin."

After starting in 2015 with research, innovation, and support for rural families in managing cocoa plots, Ayitika began producing chocolate in 2022. Since then, it has already won seven international medals.

These medals reflect the quality of its production and the company's work. They represent strong external recognition and a commercial asset. They also confirm the potential of Haitian cocoa on the international market.

The winners of the regional Chocolate Awards 2025 competitions will be judged together in the global final, which will recognize the best creations of 2025. The date has not yet been set but is expected to be in October or November 2025.
