Kidnapping foiled

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, at around 6:00 a.m., the police foiled a kidnapping attempt in Delmas 33. A Ruger pistol was seized by the police after the bandits, who were shot during the exchange of fire, fled.

2026 World Cup Qualifiers : The Grenadiers gather

As part of the Final Round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, in the Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Associations (CONCACAF) region, the Grenadiers national team began its gathering on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Willemstad, Curaçao, with the arrival of representatives of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF). Our Grenadiers will begin their gathering this Monday, September 1st. The technical team scheduled several training sessions between September 1st and 4th, alternating between on-field work and physical preparation in the gym, in order to fine-tune the final adjustments before the match against Honduras, on Friday, September 5th at 8:00 p.m. local time (even in Haiti) on the pitch at the Ergilio Hato stadium in Willemstad.

A contingent of Marines in Port-au-Prince

At the request of the United States Embassy in Port-au-Prince, and in coordination with the Haitian government, a contingent of U.S. Marines has arrived in Haiti to provide security for the U.S. diplomatic mission and coordinate a possible rotation of Marines currently providing additional security at the Embassy. This support allows the diplomatic mission to continue its assistance to the Haitian National Police and the Multinational Mission. The embassy remains open for emergency operations.

2 Haitian criminals arrested in the DR

The Directorate General of Immigration (DGM) arrested two Haitian citizens suspected of being members of the "400 Mawozo" criminal gang, wanted by Haitian authorities. The two men, identified as Adolfo Marcelino (alias Chopo) and Jean Stanley Compere (alias Fat), were escorted by members of the DGM from Santo Domingo to the border post, where they were handed over to the Divisional Commissioner of the Border Police (PoliRONT) of Ouanaminthe Antenor Leonard. In recent months, immigration services, CESFRONT, and other Dominican national security agencies have arrested numerous Haitians who were the subject of alerts and linked to criminal acts.

US Open : Naomi in the 8th finals

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Haitian-born Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka qualified for the round of 16 of the US Open, defeating Russian-born Australian Daria Kasatkina two sets to one [6-0, 4-6, 6-3]. Naomi will face the formidable American Cori Dionne Gauff (21 years old), aka "Coco Gauff" who has won eleven singles titles and ten doubles titles on the WTA Tour.

The PNCS seeks a partnership with Chile

As part of a series of meetings initiated around the acute food crisis in Haiti and the support of partners, Mr. Kevenot Dorvil, General Coordinator of the National School Meal Program (PNCS), met with Manuel Rioseco Vicencio, Chilean Ambassador accredited to Haiti. This approach, part of a new educational dynamic, will lead to new partnerships aimed at strengthening school meals for the 2025-2026 academic year.
