43% of corruption files have disappeared Of the 166 corruption cases referred to the courts by the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) and the Central Financial Intelligence Unit (UCREF), only 95 have been recovered; the other 71 have disappeared, according to the organization "Together Against Corruption." Young Khloë Timmer at the French International Gymnastics Championships The young 16-year-old Haitian star Khloë Ann Timmer will represent Haiti alongside more than 300 gymnasts at the French International Gymnastics Championships in Paris on September 13, 2025 (preliminary round) and the 14th (final round). Cap-Haitien Airport : New Welcome Lounge As announced in August 2025, Kathia Verdier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), is putting words into action and announcing the upcoming opening of a new Welcome Lounge at Cap-Haïtien International Airport, which is currently undergoing renovations. This Welcome Lounge will serve as a welcoming point for Haitians from the diaspora arriving in the country, or for organizations and associations coming for business missions or community projects. MHAVE employees will be available to provide the necessary support and assistance upon arrival at the airport. Humanitarian : $12M in emergency aid for Haiti Tom Fletcher, Coordinator of the United Nations Office for Emergency Relief and Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Haiti, has allocated $9 million from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) in response to the worsening violence and displacement in the country. This new funding will help the UN and its partners scale up their vital support to the most vulnerable. Given the magnitude of the needs, the new CERF funding is complemented by a $4 million allocation from the Common Regional Humanitarian Fund for Latin America and the Caribbean. These resources are also intended to support displaced persons and host communities in the Centre and Artibonite departments. UEH : SIM card distribution begins The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH), through the Student Life Directorate (DVE), informs the university community, and more specifically students, that the "UEH NET Étudiant" program, officially launched on September 1st, 2025 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45698-haiti-news-zapping.html , is now entering its implementation phase. SIM card distribution began on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in the institutions by the DVE team.
