Haiti - Politic : CPT President meets with Kenyan Consul

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Laurent Saint-Cyr, the President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, met with the Kenyan Consul General in Haiti, Noor Gabow, who was accompanied by Joseph Boinnet, Deputy National Security Advisor to President William Ruto, on a mission to Haiti to assess the performance of Kenyan police officers. Mission Commander-in-Chief Godfrey Otunge was also present at the meeting.

Discussions focused on the future of the Kenyan-led Multinational Mission and its role in stabilizing Haiti alongside the Haitian National Police (PNH). Gabow reaffirmed Kenya's commitment to the mission, emphasizing that security remains a key pillar in restoring stability to Haiti.

President Saint-Cyr welcomed this continued support, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in strengthening Haitian national institutions.

As part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations, the two men also discussed ways to ensure that security improvements translate into broader social and economic recovery for the Haitian people.

Beyond security, the meeting explored opportunities for increased collaboration in trade, investment, and commerce between Kenya and Haiti, particularly in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, and business development.
