Bélizaire and Chéramy Sanctioned by the United States

On Monday, September 22, 2025, Christopher Landau, United States Deputy Secretary of State, announced, "The Department of State is publicly designating Arnel Belizaire, a former member of the Haitian Chamber of Deputies, and Antonio Cheramy, a former Haitian Senator, for their involvement in significant corruption during their time in public office. This action renders Belizaire, Cheramy, and their immediate family members generally ineligible for entry into the United States."

Education : Grade Repetition Ban...

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the Ministry of National Education prohibits students from repeating grades 1, 2, and 3 in elementary school.

FNE : Arbitrary Dismissal ?

On Friday, September 19, 2025, Élysée Colagène was installed as the new Director General of the National Education Fund (FNE). She replaces Sterline Civil, who is contesting her dismissal after approximately seven months at the helm of the FNE. She claims that her three-year term, as stipulated by the institution's organic law, had not expired. She describes her departure as an "arbitrary dismissal" and accuses certain political leaders of having sought to oust her for reasons related to alleged corruption.

Taiwan donates USD 750,000 for "Kore Pep"

On Friday, September 19, 2025, as part of the "Kore Pep" program, the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) received a donation of USD 750,000 from Taiwan (Republic of China). Weather : 2 Tropical Waves Under Surveillance

Haiti's Hydro-Meteorological Unit (UHM) is monitoring the movement of two tropical waves. The first is located between the Lesser Antilles and the Cape Verde Islands. It is highly likely to develop into a tropical depression by the middle or end of the week. The second tropical wave is also located in the Lesser Antilles. This system could develop into a tropical depression by the end of the week.
