FLASH : Dimitri Vorbe faces deportation

Following the arrest in Florida on September 23, 2025, of Dimitri Vorbe https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45840-haiti-flash-new-arrest-of-dimitri-vorbe-in-florida.html the U.S. Embassy in Haiti posted on its official Facebook account some details about the charges against Vorbe, who faces deportation from the United States: "The Department of State determined that Vorbe's presence or activities in the United States could have serious negative consequences for U.S. foreign policy, which served as the basis for the charge of deportation. Specifically, officials determined that he engaged in a campaign of violence and support for gangs that contributed to the destabilization of Haiti."

Timeframe for the new UN support bureau

According to the draft resolution sponsored by the United States and Panama, if adopted by the Security Council, it will take approximately six months for the United Nations Office in Haiti (BUNAH) to be operational to support the new Gang Repression Force, during which time the OAS will continue to provide "logistical support to the force, including customs clearance, the provision of equipment, and limited support to a forward operating base."

ENIJE State Examination Results

The Ministry of National Education has released the results of the State examinations for the "École Normale d’instituteurs et de Jardinières d’Enfants" (ENIJE) for the 10 Departmental Directorates of Education. According to data from the National Bureau of State Examinations (BUNEXE), the national pass rate is 76.85%. That is, 1,653 candidates admitted out of 2,151 participants. For the Capiste students, the success rate is 21.43%.

Ouanaminthe : 50,000 Tree Planting Project

As part of its commitment to combating climate change, the Ouanaminthe Botanical Garden is launching a "Climate Plan" aimed at planting 50,000 trees over five years, with priority given to native and endemic species adapted to the climate of northeastern Haiti, to restore degraded areas and support community resilience. The Botanical Garden has established a central nursery with a capacity of at least 12,000 plants per year.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Chief Commissioner Jean Jacsaint, Chief of Staff to the Departmental Police Director of West 1, installed Municipal Commissioner Appolon Alix as the new Commander of the Departmental Operations and Intervention Brigade (BOID).

Arms trafficking and arrest at Chatelain Cargo Service

The Haitian National Police (PNH), through the Drug Trafficking Bureau (BLTS), jointly with the General Customs Administration (AGD), conducted a search on September 23, 2025, at the Chatelain Cargo Service warehouse located in Clercine 8, in the commune of Tabarre. Two firearms were seized (a .40 caliber pistol with a magazine and a PA-15 multi-caliber shotgun) listed on a customs slip registered under number E-6109, in the name of Yolanda Mackey, residing in Fort-Jacques. Following this procedure, Yolanda Mackey was arrested for international firearms trafficking. The police are continuing their investigation to identify possible accomplices and determine the scope of the network involved in this case.
