New University Campus

The project to build a new public university campus in the Grand South region is progressing https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45537-haiti-flash-towards-the-establishment-of-a-ueh-university-campus-in-the-grand-sud.html Several plots of land have been proposed; it is now up to the DGI's central management to survey the land, a prerequisite for securing funding from donors. At this stage, the overall cost and duration of the project have not yet been determined.

Psychosocial Support for Displaced Girls

On Friday, September 26, at the Hotel Hirondelle in Les Cayes, the UNESCO Haiti Office, in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, launched the project "Psychosocial Support for Girls Displaced by Violence from Armed Groups". This initiative responds to the urgent need to support young girls forced to flee their homes due to insecurity. Deprived of their education and facing trauma, they need appropriate support to rebuild their futures.

Award-winning documentary on Haiti and gangs (Video)

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, France 24 senior reporters Catherine Norris-Trent and Roméo Langlois won the 2025 DIG Award, one of the most prestigious awards in investigative journalism, for their report "Haiti : In Port-au-Prince, the capital besieged by gangs." The DIG (Italian acronym for Documentaries, Investigations, Journalism) recognizes the best published reports and investigations each year. Their 52-minute documentary also won the Best Reporting Award at the 30th Lauriers de l'Audiovisuel Awards ceremony, held in Paris on February 24, 2025.

PNH South-East : Towards the start of the school year

Friday, September 26, 2025, as the reopening of schools approaches, the Director The South-East Departmental Police Department held a meeting with the heads of the districts and municipalities of the department, as well as the heads of the said Directorate's services. The objective was to harmonize actions and ensure that all conditions are met for a smooth return to school (October 1st).

France-Haiti : Cooperation between Chambers of Trades

The Embassy of Haiti in France was pleased to welcome Ms. Élisabeth Auffray, Regional Director of External Relations and Partnerships for the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Île-de-France. Discussions focused in particular on the establishment of a partnership between the said Chamber and the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Haiti. The Mission welcomes the first meeting to establish contact between the two Chambers of Trades and Crafts, which took place on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
