$780,000 Lobbying Contract

Roger Stone, a political ally of Donald Trump, has been hired by Haiti (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to provide public affairs advice to the Haitian government (lobbying). His Fort Lauderdale-based company, Drake Ventures, signed a one-year contract worth $780,000 ($65,000 per month). This agreement stipulates that Stone will advocate for Haiti's interests with the U.S. government and keep Haitian authorities informed of any developments that could impact Haiti's interests.

U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026

On Saturday, September 19, Haiti's U-17 men's national team qualified for the final of the U-19 Tournament (a preparatory phase for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026, which will take place from November 19 to December 13, 2026), after defeating SLG Academy once again in the competition. Chery Germisson, one of the scorers in Haiti's first victory [2-0] against SLG Academy in the group stage, scored the only goal of the semi-final to send the team to the tournament final, scheduled for Saturday, September 26. Haiti's U17 national team coach, Kowsky Sainvil, is very pleased with the team's performance, despite the absence of some key players. "It's satisfying for me to see the team react like this, even though some key players weren't on the field." He congratulated Germisson Chery, who scored another beautiful goal in the competition.

Sports Cooperation between Haiti and Qatar

Ambassador Pierre-Richard Cajuste paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Engineer Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the State of Qatar. The meeting focused on strengthening sports cooperation between Haiti and Qatar. The two parties also discussed the possibility of concluding a Memorandum of Understanding in this area. Ambassador Cajuste welcomed the concrete avenues identified for deepening relations between the two countries.
