Haiti - Travel: Sunrise Airways announces a New York - Cap-Haitien route
On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the Haitian airline Sunrise Airways announced a new route between New York and Cap-Haitien, thereby strengthening connectivity between New York City and Haiti. Flights will operate between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York and Hugo Chávez International Airport (CAP) in Cap-Haitien. The route will launch on November 16, 2026, with two weekly flights, on Mondays and Thursdays. At the same time, Sunrise Airways announced that its operations at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) will cease on October 20, 2026, as part of the transfer of its flights to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). "Sunrise Airways is committed to making travel more accessible and affordable for the Haitian community living in the Big Apple as well as for American travelers wishing to visit Haiti. New York is a key city for the Haitian diaspora looking to maintain ties with their homeland," said Gary Stone, CEO of Sunrise Airways. Upon arrival in Cap-Haitien, passengers will be able to continue their journeys to other destinations in Haiti, including Les Cayes and Port-au-Prince as well as to other Caribbean destinations served by the airline's network. To mark the launch of this new route, Sunrise Airways is offering a special promotion, HELLOJFK, providing a 25% discount on the base fare. The offer is available from October 13 to 16, 2026, for travel between November 16 and December 15, 2026. This promotional offer applies to the base fare of all packages offered by Sunrise Airways, subject to limited seat availability. Taxes, airport fees, and other applicable charges are not included in the discount. HL/ HaitiLibre
