Kidnappings up 42% According to UN figures, kidnappings in Haiti have increased by 42% compared to the previous quarter. At least 81 people were reportedly abducted in Haiti between April and June 2026. However, the figures are undoubtedly higher, as some families do not report the abductions for fear of reprisals or to avoid complicating negotiations with the kidnappers. The grand finale brought together nine finalists before an audience of teachers, parents, representatives of cultural institutions, and members of the diplomatic corps. The winners are : 1st Place : Emmanuel Woodly François; 2nd Place : Wilflore Louis; and 3rd Place : Wis-Endia Luberisse.
