Saturday October 3rd, 2026, in Saint Patrick (Delmas 33), police officer Luc André Dossous shot his partner, police officer Magalie Augustin, as well as their 11-month-old baby, before committing suicide. Graduation of 25 midwives

Sunday, October 4, 2026 in Pétion-ville, the Management of the National Higher Institute for Midwifery Training (INSFSF) and the Ministry of Public Health organized, with the support of the United Nations agency for sexual and reproductive health (UNFPA) and Canada, the graduation ceremony of 25 graduating students in midwifery training from the Pôle Ouest.

Air safety

Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis Minister of Public Works and Hantz Célestin, Director of the National Civil Aviation Office (OFNAC), took part in the Caribbean High-Level Symposium on Aviation Safety at the Arthur Chung Conference Center in Georgetown (Guyana) focused on the theme "Strengthening aviation safety in the Caribbean : Regional cooperation, resilient surveillance and sustainable capacity development". The Minister also had direct discussions with representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Regional Director of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as well as other key players in the sector. These discussions aimed to coordinate efforts and identify concrete solutions to strengthen the safety, regulatory compliance and resilience of the Haitian civil aviation system.

Distribution of agricultural kits to 1,400 beneficiaries

Saturday October 3rd, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), carried out a distribution of agricultural tools and inputs for the benefit of producers in the commune of Kenscoff. In total, 1,400 beneficiaries received agricultural kits intended to facilitate their production activities. Each kit includes a watering can, complete fertilizer, a hoe and a rake, essential tools to support agricultural work and improve production conditions.

The French Ambassador to Kenscoff

The Municipality of Kenscoff received a visit from the new Ambassador of France to Haiti, Gautier Lekens, who came to see the efforts made by the police and to show his support for the authorities and the population of Kenscoff. During this visit, the diplomat made a point of saluting the efforts and determination of the local authorities who, for nearly 21 months, have been facing the onslaught of armed groups and continue to assume their responsibilities alongside the population, despite the considerable risks and difficulties linked to the security situation.
